Foodie Post #2

Hey everyone!

Last week I talked about how chefs have awesome social media where they promote products and show you how to use them in recipes. I have still been obsessing over them and following them.

For Christmas this year, my mom gave me a cook book called "Whole Bowls" because I have been really into different bowl ideas lately. This book is very on trend, and is vegetarian, gluten free, and SUPER healthy. All of the things our generation appreciates. I have cooked various recipes and am obsessed. I pulled it out to cook a bowl the other day and noticed the authors name. My first thought was immediately to find her on instagram. It's pretty funny how that works. Low and behold, she has a instagram, @yummybeet. I followed her instantly and noticed she has a link to her blog and website. She also promotes her cookbooks in various posts and other peoples products. She brands herself with interesting little instagrams, funny captions, and delicious foods to make you want to buy what she does, cook what she does, and ultimately buy her book! If I didn't already have it, I'd totally buy it! Instagrams create perfect personas to market oneself and ultimately sell products!

Here are some of her posts marketing her book:

And for the finale, here is a picture of two of my bowls I made with her recipes:

Xo and eat well,

  1. Just from her posts alone, I want to buy her book. The food she shares looks not only delicious, but also healthy. A picture is worth a thousand words (and just a few calories!). Her instagram really seems to represent her personal brand well.

  2. I think it's great you were able to find the author of your cook book so easily! That's one of the things I love about social media and just the internet in general because everything we want to know is readily available! The pictures you shared from the author's Instagram remind me of a cook book I got for Christmas and now I want to go look and see if that author has a presence on social media.

  4. Wow I totally want to check this cookbook out after reading this! I think we all can relate to how difficult it can be to eat healthy as a college student, but this book could really help me.

  5. This cookbook knows how to let people to cook their own recipe. I'm not so cooking person, but I might try a simple salad by myself based on her cookbook!
